Tucked away in one of Brighton's oldest twitten lanes, this property is superbly situated in the heart of the cities most fashionable shopping and dining district, the South Lanes. The row of three cottages along Black lion lane, are reputedly the oldest houses in Brighton, dating back to 1565.
Packed with original charm and character; this Grade II listed house is dotted with antique French wall sconces, ship style shutters and silver tankards, which give a nod to the property's decadent past. However the design (by TV’s interior designer Sophie Robinson) is both modern and eclectic making this property a truly original and stylish place to stay.
The petite proportions are celebrated with a dusky palette of dark slate grey, to create a cosy and intimate vibe. The rustic oak and reclaimed timber combine perfectly with the luxury slate tiled double shower wet room and all mod cons kitchen. This is the ideal place to lock yourselves away for the weekend. Should you wish to venture out, the very best in central Brighton's bars, restaurants and night-life are all on your doorstep and only 2 minutes to the beach itself!
Hotel grade Zip and link beds give flexibility for your group or family bookings, sleeping up to 8 using the sofa bed in the living room.

What People Say...
Thanks. The house was lovely, the only issue we had was with the noise at night but there’s nothing you or the owners can do about that! We will definitely be coming back.
I just wanted to leave feedback for our stay last weekend. The house was in a brilliant location, had everything we needed and there was also champagne in the fridge which was a really nice touch.
We loved the house and it was perfect for 4 and a half people. The two teenagers loved it so much we're under quite a bit of pressure to go back next summer.
The cottage was immaculate, loved Brighton, appreciated small touches lovely and clean. located centrally ... will be using your company again to return to Brighton at a later date, thank you.
The house was beautiful and so nicely decorated, my sister was scrambling around like a kid in a sweetshop. I can honestly say we shall be recommending your company to others, not only for the quality of your properties, but the kindness in your team.
Just returned from a weekend stay at Smugglers Retreat with my friends and wanted to thank you for all your help. It was a fantastic pad - very quirky and a perfect location. We all really loved it and had such a great time.....we've secretly renamed it our girls' getaway pad! Please thank Sophie and Tom for the bubbles too - it was a really sweet touch. Thank you again - will be in touch soon to re-book!
