Swallows
Country Estate
A stunning 10 bedroom country house set in a beautiful rural location overlooking the National Trust south downs. Situated just outside the picturesque Sussex villages of Friston and East Dean. Old Willingdon road itself is better known as "millionaires' row" with its many salubrious properties of the rich and famous. Friston is approximately 17 miles outside of Brighton and 5 miles to Eastbourne. Minibuses and limousines can be arranged for your transportation into town.
This superb property is set in 2.5 acres of landscaped gardens, and has a swimming pool and tennis courts which are available seasonally.
There are 10 bedrooms, one with en-suite; 2 further bathrooms; a large conservatory dining room; a period drawing room together with 2 kitchens. This large country house is perfect for corporate bookings, weekends away and family get-togethers.
Local Information
East Dean and Friston are adjacent villages situated between the coastal towns of Eastbourne and Seaford in East Sussex. Friston was home to E Nesbit and the story of The Railway Children was based here.
The village has a range of local amenities, including a pub (the popular Tiger Inn), a post office, a doctor's surgery, a veterinary surgery, several local shops (including an award-winning butcher!) and a multi-purpose village hall, built in 2000.
Regular bus services run to Brighton, Eastbourne and Seaford - see local transport for further details.
The popular beach at Birling Gap is just a couple of miles away and the villages are splendidly placed for walks over the famous South Downs, towards Beachy Head or over the Seven Sisters towards Cuckmere Haven.
Parking Information
There is parking for up to 10 cars on the driveway.
