Brighton Pride 2016

Brighton Pride 2016

Brighton Pride 2016 is happening on Saturday 6th August!

Last year Brighton Pride was the UK’s largest with over 290,000 people coming out to celebrate the Pride weekend and this year Brighton Pride is looking even bigger and even better.

This year’s Brighton Pride parade theme will be “Carnival of Diversity” and the campaigning them will be “Uniting Nations.” This theme both celebrates global diversity but also highlights the importance of continuing to campaign for global LGBT+ rights.

The parade will be as spectacular and colourful as ever with floats from local LGBT+ communities and groups, local businesses and representation from public services including the police and prison guards.

Last year a full 200,000 people came from all over the globe and flooded the streets to enjoy the community parade and the sunshine and to celebrate diversity in Brighton and beyond.

Not all the details have been announced yet for the official Pride Festival in Preston Park, but so far we know that the biggest Pride Festival stage in the UK will feature sets from Fleur East, DJ Fresh and Rudimental vocalist Anne-Marie. The 2016 celebrity hosts will be Seann Miley Moore and Monroe Bergdorf. 8,000 revellers in the Big Top Dance Tent will be entertained by sets from The Freemasons and Stonebridge.
