Christmas shopping in Brighton
Brighton has fantastic shopping all year round, with all the high street stores that you would expect, plenty of designer boutiques for those special treats, and hundreds of independent retailers that will sell you almost anything that you could imagine.
You will be able to find some amazing, personal and unique gifts if you stroll around The Lanes and North Laine areas. There are also Christmas markets to look out for with some of Brighton's finest artists and crafts-people.
The outdoor ice rink has become a sure sign that Christmas is approaching. This year the outdoor ice rink is set in the Pavilion Gardens against the wonderful backdrop of Brighton's Royal Pavilion. They have warm penguins and a separate area available for the little ones and a bar serving delicious mulled wine to warm you up afterwards.

The Christmas Market is open all along the complete length of our festival site with stalls and festive food and drink.Victoria Gardens will be the central hub for the market, with wooden christmas chalet lined lanes selling everything delicious treats to get you into the festive mood.

Brighton Christmas Traditions
There are a few Christmas traditions that are unique to Brighton and if you are in the area you really shouldn't miss out. Every year on 21st December Brighton residents parade down to the beach front with paper lanterns to mark the shortest day. This event is called the Burning The Clocks and is free to attend, with amazing fire sculptures, displays and music all on offer.
Christmas at the Royal Pavilion
Art fans shouldn't miss the Christmas Artists Open Houses with some of Brighton's best artists opening their studios and houses to the public. You can browse the work, buy original pieces and chat to the artists.
For something really unique, head down to Hove between 5.30 and 6.30 every evening for the amazing Beach Hut Advent Calendar. This event sees a new beach hut being opened every day on the count down to Christmas and a festive surprise inside.
