Food and wine in Kent
There are lots of lovely places to eat dotted around the Kent countryside, selling locally grown food and wine. Country pubs, local cafes and restaurants pride themselves on sourcing food in the county, and the general quality is very high. Rather than planning everything down to the last detail, you can wander off on a long country walk, or along the beach, and any random pub or cafe you stop at will likely be serving excellent, locally sourced food.

For interesting history, you should visit Canterbury's World Heritage Site, made up of Canterbury Cathedral, St Augustine's Abbey and St Martin's Church. Interested in history and beer? Go on the Shepherd Neame Brewery tour, which takes 80 minutes and includes tasting some of their excellent beers. It was awarded Gold in the 'small visitor attraction' category by enjoyEngland in 2011.
If art is more your thing, the new Turner Contemporary gallery in Margate is a must. It contains a range of work by Turner, including both finished works and sketchbooks, and has a rich collection of rolling exhibits. When the art becomes too much, you'll have Margate's old town and beautiful sandy beach to enjoy too.
